Baker City Trip

Day 1 (Saturday June 7th)

So the beginning of our trip started on Saturday around 10 am. Well the start wasn't the best start. We ended up having to put brand new brakes on the van. Well when the kids and I started we went through Lebanon and the roads were all blocked due to the strawberry festival. So we started off slow. By the time we hit Sisters Miranda threw up. She got car sick bad. We got to Prinville to meet my in-laws and I called my mother in-law and said please let us get out and breath for a little while. So we ended up going to McDonalds and the kids got to play for a little while. Then off we went. By the time that we hit John Day Miranda had thrown up again and Sherrill was driving my van. Jonas was going crazy, he doesn't like when people throw up and the smell was making him sick so we ended up moving him in with the other kids to watch movies. I was a nervous wreck. We ended up getting ice cream for the kids and then heading to Baker City. Miranda ended up throwing up again. This time I was able to help her out since I wasn't driving. We got there and I unloaded the van and got Miranda into the bath, washed out her car seat and helped make pizza. By the time she got out of the bath she was feeling a whole lot better.

Day 2 (Sunday June 8th)

Sunday morning was crazy. Miranda and the kids got up around 5:30 in the morning. That started off to a very tiring morning. In Baker it is very bright so when the sun comes up no more sleeping for us. Well we got ready for church and we went outside to take pictures. Miranda needed a diaper change so I went inside to change the diaper and came out and shut the door by habit and it was locked. I locked us out so we had to walk to church w/ six kids. that was so much fun. Blistors and all. I ended up going to first service and sunday school and coming back and putting Miranda and Maysen down for a nap. Both were so tired that they feel asleep. Later that evening we went and saw Kung Fu Panda. Jonas fell asleep and Miranda couldn't sit still.

Day 3 (Monday June 9th)

Monday came and I realized when Miranda got up again at 5:30 am that I needed to do something about the window. Sherrill ended up putting tin foil up on the window so that it was very dark in the room. Miranda I got to hang out in the morning while the rest of the kids went to VBS (vacation bible school). We went and got coffee of course she got hot chocolate but it was nice just being the two of us. I don't get to do that during the week very often so it was nice to just hang out together. The rest of the day was just a relaxing time playing in the back yard. Mazie and I made brownies for her unbirthday while the other kids had quite time. It was really nice to be able to hang out with her and do something fun. We don't live close so anytime I get to spend with them is nice.

Day 4 (Tuesday June 10th)

The kids went to VBS and by this point I was exhasted so Miranda and I just hung out at home. It was a very dark morning and it was to be the coolest day of the week. After the kids got back from VBS Destin and I got to make a cake together. It was a fun cake because it was white with dashes of color through out. Sherrill and I went bowling with the kids in the afternoon after visiting Grammy Shirley at Settlers Park. When we were done with bowling we looked outside and it was snowing. Can you believe it here we are in eastern oregon and it was snowing in June. Crazy. We ending the day with French dips (Sherrill had every meal planned for the week which was very nice.) which was nice way to end the day.

Day 5th (Wed. June 11th)

It was a normal morning, the kids and Sherrill (and of course papa) went to church for VBS while Miranda and I went to the store to get some milk and bread that we were already running out of. After the kids got back I took the three boys to get lunch at McDonalds. We brought back ice cream for the girls. Later in the afternoon Leslie and Griffin showed up. We had dinner and then put the boys in the bath and to bed. Maysen woke up with an ear ache. I went to Safe way and got some meds. for the little man.

Day 6 (Thursday June 12th)

Les and I with Griffin and Miranda went around town during the morning while the kids went to VBS. Ended up stopping by the church to check the boys out. It was really nice to see the kids. They loved playing and singing with all the other kids and learning about Jesus. Later that afternoon we went to Little Pig. It is a place were the kids painted a piece of pottery. Les and I tried to make plates for the kids but it didn't turn out the way that we wished for. After that we went to Settlers Park were we ate dinner with Grandma Shirley. It was nice to see her face light up with all the kids around.

Day 7 (Friday June 13th)

Friday was the ending of VBS. Les and I plan was to go and watch the ending program of VBS. Early that morning Leslie had a problem with her pooper..... she had to go and she had to go know. Papa was in the other shower so she had to go into thier room to just go to the bathroom. She didn't know that Sherrill was in the shower. When she walked in Sherrill opened the curtin. Poor Leslie was so embarrassed. I don't think that she will ever live that one down. Funny stuff. Well we went to the program and then they had a picnic afterward and then took the little kids home to get naps. Then when Papa and Sherrill returned w/ the rest of the kids Leslie and I went to hot Lakes. It was very interesting place. It use to be a hotel, hospital, and other shops. A family purchased it and are fixing it up. It is amazing. Well we ended up with a bad tour guide who really didn't care that we were interested in the place at all. We were looking for ghost.... hahahahaha.

Day 8 (Saturday June 14th)

We ended up getting up around 7:30 and out of the house by 9:00 am. We finally returned home at about 3:45 or so. It is good to be. It is was a very nice visit but to see Josh's face and the kids face to see there daddy it was so nice to be home. Miranda is now showered and in bed. Time to relax.

Talk at you later.
