Big 5th Birthday!

So it is that time of year again and my baby is turning five this month. I can't believe it. This year Jonas theme is Beach Party. I asked him what he wanted to do thinking that he would want to do a Power Ranger party or Transformer party. Nope, mom I want to have a beach party. I think it was because at school they had a LUAU and pretended that they flew to Hawaii. Jonas loved it. Well we are having a Beach Party. I went yesterday to get some decorations. I went to the dollar store because I saw that they had some grass skirts and other things for the beach party but they didn't have anything yesterday. So this morning I went over to Joanne Fabrics to get some paper for the invitations and wow I found it all and it was 50% off. It was great. We are having the party @ my sister in-law parents house. Beth has been in our life since my brother and her were in middle school. So a really long time. She was supose to be there when Jonas was born but they were on vacation and that was the day that they were traveling home so she got to see him the next day. Jonas loves to go out to Beth's parents house. They have a big pool which we get to take advantage of anytime that we want to. Last night we were out there and they said that they would love to have the party out there. It should be a lot of fun. I am also getting a huge blow up water slide. The kids are going to have so much fun. Can't wait. Chelsea is going to make the cake and Beth is going to help with the party itself. So it should be a lot of fun.

Tonight Miranda had to get shot. We had taken her in for her baby well check a couple of weeks ago but she had an ear infection so we had to wait until she was finished with her meds. to finish with getting her shots. So today was the day that she got her shot, it was only one shot so it wasn't as bad as it could have been but still you feel bad that she was in pain. Jonas was scared that he was going to get one. Little does he know that his appt. is on the 17th of July and he gets four separate shots. I am making sure that Josh goes with me so I don't have to go through that one alone. Poor big boy!

Well that is it for today.

My Brothers!

I think I have the best brothers of all. My littlest brother is getting married this summer. This weekend is one of two showers that my soon to be sister in-law is having. Me and my mom and her aunt are hosting another one in a couple of weeks. It should be a lot of fun. My brother cracks me up because he is a lot like me I guess in some ways. Always wanting to know what people are getting you and can't wait for surpises. He cracks me up. Anyway. We went over there this evening to see my brother and Chels. The kids haven't seen them in awhile and they were so excited to see them. I think that Miranda ran and ran around my brothers kitchen forever. We looked at pictures and she kept saying GERME. It was so cute. She just loves him so much. My brother has always been there for me. My wedding (now I get to be there for him), and when both of my kids were born. Jeremy and Miranda have a very special relationship or at least she has a special place in his heart. Jeremy loves her and always wants to be with her. Very good uncle and brother.
Now my other brother Jason. He also has been there for me w/ my wedding and when both of our child were born. I also got to be there for him. He has recently become a father for the first time. It has been a joy to see him become a father. He is such a good dad to Eli and I know this is something that he has always wanted to be. He also has a very special place in my son life. If you ask Jonas who his buddy is he says Uncle Jason. Jason has been there w/ Jonas all his life. When Jonas was little he got to spend one Monday and month w/ his Aunt Beth and sometimes Uncle Jason. I have pictures of Jason sleeping with Jonas on his chest when he was really little. Very cute.
I guess this Blog is just one to say that I have two very special brothers and I just wanted to let them know that I love them and very proud of them. They both are married or going to be to wonderful people and I thank them for letting me be a part of there special moments in life. Love you both!

Baby Well Check.

Today was Miranda's baby well check for her 2nd birthday. I was not looking forward to it because it ment that she was going to be getting a shot. I didn't want my baby to be hurt.... Although I know that it is good for her. So we went in and they weighed her and checked her height. The little girl is: 26lbs. and 34 inches, which means that she is average for her weight and in the 10 percent for her age in her height. What can we say we have a tiny little girl and a huge little boy. The doctor was checking her out and making sure everything looked good. When she was looking in her ears she asked me if Miranda had been compling about her ears. I said no but to come to think about it it has been strange because she has been getting up in the middle of the night and not wanting to go back to sleep. Not upset or anything just wants to stay up. Well you guess it full blown double ear infection. YUCK! Well needless to say we stop at Fred Meyers on our way home and got some meds for her ears. Hopefully tonight will be better but we will see. Poor little girl. I feel like a bad mommy for not knowing. It was strange though because I asked all my daycare parents that have two year olds if they were going threw that and they all said no. I was like my child was sleeping threw the night and we went on vacation and now what is going on. Well now I know it was because her ears. Glad to have that taken care of. It is offical are daughter is growing up and there is no stopping it. No longer a baby. I was told today that I have to let her start to dress herself. I haven't even really thought about it. I guess because she is my baby because we are not sure if we are going to have another one. I just want to do what I can for her. So we are going to try it tomorrow and she gets to get dressed on her own.

Well that is enough for tonight. Goodnight!

Happy Father's Day!

I have the best husband anyone could ever have. The kids and I had been gone for a whole week. Josh had plenty of work and had plenty of other things to do but it must of been hard for him to be away from us the whole week. He was so cute because he made sure to call each day at least twice sometimes more then that. When we returned home he ran out to give each one of us a hug and kiss. We sure did miss him and he missed us. You never really know what you have until you are not around it.

Josh is the greatest father. He is very good about getting down on the ground with Jonas and play fighting or just holding Miranda and telling her that she is so beautiful. Everynight when he comes home he seeks each one out and spends quality time with them. He has read books on how to raise boys so that he can be the best father that he could be. He is kind and gentle with them and is very consitent when they are doing something that they are not supose to be doing....

I have married the best husband and father I could have ever have. I couldn't have imagined what kind of man God had instore for me to marry. He is a wonderful man. He grounds me when needed and helps me to be a better women. He always has time for me and thinks that I am beautiful no matter how much weight I have gained since having two children. He thinks that I look the same I did when we got married. He is a very Godly man. He guides our family like Christ would and wants to raise our children to follow Christ as we do.

We love you honey! Happy Fathers Day.

Baker City Trip

Day 1 (Saturday June 7th)

So the beginning of our trip started on Saturday around 10 am. Well the start wasn't the best start. We ended up having to put brand new brakes on the van. Well when the kids and I started we went through Lebanon and the roads were all blocked due to the strawberry festival. So we started off slow. By the time we hit Sisters Miranda threw up. She got car sick bad. We got to Prinville to meet my in-laws and I called my mother in-law and said please let us get out and breath for a little while. So we ended up going to McDonalds and the kids got to play for a little while. Then off we went. By the time that we hit John Day Miranda had thrown up again and Sherrill was driving my van. Jonas was going crazy, he doesn't like when people throw up and the smell was making him sick so we ended up moving him in with the other kids to watch movies. I was a nervous wreck. We ended up getting ice cream for the kids and then heading to Baker City. Miranda ended up throwing up again. This time I was able to help her out since I wasn't driving. We got there and I unloaded the van and got Miranda into the bath, washed out her car seat and helped make pizza. By the time she got out of the bath she was feeling a whole lot better.

Day 2 (Sunday June 8th)

Sunday morning was crazy. Miranda and the kids got up around 5:30 in the morning. That started off to a very tiring morning. In Baker it is very bright so when the sun comes up no more sleeping for us. Well we got ready for church and we went outside to take pictures. Miranda needed a diaper change so I went inside to change the diaper and came out and shut the door by habit and it was locked. I locked us out so we had to walk to church w/ six kids. that was so much fun. Blistors and all. I ended up going to first service and sunday school and coming back and putting Miranda and Maysen down for a nap. Both were so tired that they feel asleep. Later that evening we went and saw Kung Fu Panda. Jonas fell asleep and Miranda couldn't sit still.

Day 3 (Monday June 9th)

Monday came and I realized when Miranda got up again at 5:30 am that I needed to do something about the window. Sherrill ended up putting tin foil up on the window so that it was very dark in the room. Miranda I got to hang out in the morning while the rest of the kids went to VBS (vacation bible school). We went and got coffee of course she got hot chocolate but it was nice just being the two of us. I don't get to do that during the week very often so it was nice to just hang out together. The rest of the day was just a relaxing time playing in the back yard. Mazie and I made brownies for her unbirthday while the other kids had quite time. It was really nice to be able to hang out with her and do something fun. We don't live close so anytime I get to spend with them is nice.

Day 4 (Tuesday June 10th)

The kids went to VBS and by this point I was exhasted so Miranda and I just hung out at home. It was a very dark morning and it was to be the coolest day of the week. After the kids got back from VBS Destin and I got to make a cake together. It was a fun cake because it was white with dashes of color through out. Sherrill and I went bowling with the kids in the afternoon after visiting Grammy Shirley at Settlers Park. When we were done with bowling we looked outside and it was snowing. Can you believe it here we are in eastern oregon and it was snowing in June. Crazy. We ending the day with French dips (Sherrill had every meal planned for the week which was very nice.) which was nice way to end the day.

Day 5th (Wed. June 11th)

It was a normal morning, the kids and Sherrill (and of course papa) went to church for VBS while Miranda and I went to the store to get some milk and bread that we were already running out of. After the kids got back I took the three boys to get lunch at McDonalds. We brought back ice cream for the girls. Later in the afternoon Leslie and Griffin showed up. We had dinner and then put the boys in the bath and to bed. Maysen woke up with an ear ache. I went to Safe way and got some meds. for the little man.

Day 6 (Thursday June 12th)

Les and I with Griffin and Miranda went around town during the morning while the kids went to VBS. Ended up stopping by the church to check the boys out. It was really nice to see the kids. They loved playing and singing with all the other kids and learning about Jesus. Later that afternoon we went to Little Pig. It is a place were the kids painted a piece of pottery. Les and I tried to make plates for the kids but it didn't turn out the way that we wished for. After that we went to Settlers Park were we ate dinner with Grandma Shirley. It was nice to see her face light up with all the kids around.

Day 7 (Friday June 13th)

Friday was the ending of VBS. Les and I plan was to go and watch the ending program of VBS. Early that morning Leslie had a problem with her pooper..... she had to go and she had to go know. Papa was in the other shower so she had to go into thier room to just go to the bathroom. She didn't know that Sherrill was in the shower. When she walked in Sherrill opened the curtin. Poor Leslie was so embarrassed. I don't think that she will ever live that one down. Funny stuff. Well we went to the program and then they had a picnic afterward and then took the little kids home to get naps. Then when Papa and Sherrill returned w/ the rest of the kids Leslie and I went to hot Lakes. It was very interesting place. It use to be a hotel, hospital, and other shops. A family purchased it and are fixing it up. It is amazing. Well we ended up with a bad tour guide who really didn't care that we were interested in the place at all. We were looking for ghost.... hahahahaha.

Day 8 (Saturday June 14th)

We ended up getting up around 7:30 and out of the house by 9:00 am. We finally returned home at about 3:45 or so. It is good to be. It is was a very nice visit but to see Josh's face and the kids face to see there daddy it was so nice to be home. Miranda is now showered and in bed. Time to relax.

Talk at you later.

Let there be light.

The kitchen lights have not been working since Dec. They stopped working when I came home from the hospital. It was hard to get the guy to come out and look at them. We had Josh's step dad come and look and it and my dad looked at it also. No one could find out what was going on. My friend told me about a guy that went to our church that rewired there half of there house. So I went and talked with him and he was all booked up until May. He called this weekend and came over while I was down helping with the garage sale in Creswell. When I returned we had light again. I have totally forgotten what it is like to have light in the kitchen. I have been making dinner in the dark until we took a lamp and put it in the dinning room. It worked for the time being. Fun stuff. Anyway it is nice to have light again!!! :)
Well tomorrow we head off to Baker City. I get to drive about 8 hrs to Baker with two kids. This is going to be an adventure. It should be a lot of fun. Jonas is looking forward to being with his cousins (jurny, maysen, destin, mazie). Jurny six months younger and Maysen is a year and four months younger. So they have a blast being together. Mazie and Destin are older so they will be a lot of help with Miranda. I have gotten some fun things for the kids to do while we are there. Hopefully the weather will be okay. The big kids are going to VBS during the morning, while Miranda and I will just have a nice morning together. Maybe we will go for a walk or go see papa at church who knows. Just have a very relaxing time.
