Happy Halloween!

This has been a very long week. I have been very sick and on Tuesday was informed I had a major sinus infection. That explained a lot. I had no energy and I felt like my head was going to explode. Yuck! By Wed. evening I was feeling ten times better. Thursday Jonas and I headed to the pumpkin patch with his class mates. It was a blast. I got to catch up with an old friend and enjoy seeing who my son has been playing with for the last couple of months. Plus I got to see his teacher a little more and that was really nice. Jonas has a wonderful teacher. She called me today and told me out of the blue that Jonas was doing really well. He actually is a head of the class in reading. He can now sound out the word and figure out what the word is. I don't know what it is but it totally amazes me. Not that I didn't think that he could do it but now he is and wanting to learn more. Okay back to the pumpkin patch. We went to a pumpkin patch on the way to Corvallis. It was really fun. Jonas and his friends each got to pick a pumpkin to take home. Jonas wants me to cut it and bake the seeds. Then we headed in for some homemade donuts and apple juice. Yummy. While inside a little boy got stung by a bee. I actually took the bee off him and got the stinger off his head. Poor little guy. Jonas was not to sure about that. He didn't want to eat anything else sweet and thought that would keep the bees away. Silly kid. Then they got to climb on this hay mountain. It was great for the kids to get some energy. Then we headed back to the school. Jonas and I then went to get ice cream as a date. It was so nice to just spend some time with him with out anyone around.

Tonight was a blast. Jason/ Beth and Jeremy/ Chelsea came over to see the kids. And of course we had to see that way cute little man Eli. Then Josh took the kids to my parents and I headed to church. I was incharge of the Junk Food Walk. It was so much fun. The kids love to win and get to pick what ever they wanted. When it was over Jonas was ready to go out for the evening but man was I tired. Miranda wanted to go to bed and take advantage of her sleep. She loves to do that lately. Now I am sitting relaxing watching my GhostHunters Live and enjoying the quite.

Lazy Sundays....

I am sick! Yuck! Does anyone ever want to be sick. I don't that is for sure. I guess it is God's way of slowing me down and just taking some time for my self. On Friday night me and the kids went to Urgent Care because I truely felt like I had a ear infection. After an hour wait with two kids the doctor told me that I didn't have an ear infection nor strep throat. That was good because all week I have been with kids. She did think that I might have a sinus infection. So she gave me meds for that. The meds that she gave me wasn't covered by my insurance (only give in oregon) so I had to pay full price. Crazy. I still have a headache and my ears are still plugged. Hope things get better tomorrow.....
Jonas has his first conference this week. Josh and I are going together on Thrusday. I actually can't wait because I want to see how he is doing. I probally am going to be one of those parents that want to know every little detail.... Tonight while Jonas was doing his homework ( I know homework in Kindergarden) we went over his work from last week. He actually had some work on reading and my little boy is reading sentences! WOW! KINDERGARDEN has sure changed. But I am enjoying every moment of seeing him learn.
Miranda is doing really well. She no longer is taking her "mimi" during the day. Only during nap time and bed time. When she gets up she gives it to me and goes on with her day. She now thinks that she has to take her baby everywhere she goes. It is really cute although baby is pretty beat up. It is fun to watch her lately really play with the baby. Tonight she wanted to put baby to bed and read her a story. So sweet.
This coming week is going to be nice because Josh is only going to work @ his second job on Friday and Saturday. Yeah. That means that I will get to spend more evenings with my husband. I love that man!
Enough of the crazies...until next time....

Fall and Pumpkins!

We had a very busy weekend. Friday night me and a friend took are kids to Chucke Cheese. What a mess that turned out to be. Jonas was exhasted from being up since 6 in the morning. So the minute he saw Chucke Cheese he lost it. He wasn't near me nor was he able to find me so that made it worse. By the time that I saw him he was a mess. Didn't leave my side. Yeah fun. Miranda wanted to ride every little ride there was. So that was a blast to see her do that.
On Saturday my mom and I went shopping. It was so nice to go out and just hang out for awhile. We hit all the good stores and got great deals. I got a lot of stocking stuffers and started looking for christmas presents. So that was really nice. On Sunday we went to Lone Pine Farm. It was so much fun. Josh has never gone with us to get pumpkins so it was an adventure for the four of us. We got to ride in a carriage that was pulled by a horse. Miranda was so excited. She wanted to just look and touch all the animals at the farm. Jonas rode a cow train. It was barrells that had seats in them and pulled by a 4 wheeler. So much fun. It was like a roller coaster. So much fun. He got off and wanted to take his cousin Maysen on it next time. Josh and I are planning to go back because there was so much to do and not enough time. There is a corn maze that we will do next time. Then we went and hung out with Josh's mom and step dad and family. It was really nice to have us all together. Fun stuff. Well I better get back to the mad house.

Tonight Josh's dad and step mom are coming for the evening. And it is Sherrill's birthday. We are going to go to dinner and have a cake that I made this morning. So much fun. Can't wait to see them.
Happy Birthday Sherrill!

My mom!

It is that time of year again and in a one month I will not see my mom very much. Her and my dad both work in retail. So Black Friday is the starting to a six day work week and very long hours. So this weekend my mom and I are going shopping. I love being with my mom and it is a trip that I am looking forward to. We don't get to do it much so this will be really nice to be able to hang out together. Can't wait.
On Sunday Josh and I are taking the kids to the pumpkin patch. We are really excited about going and checking out all the pumpkins and getting some to carve for the fall. We will see how it turns out. Pictures will follow after the trip.
Until next time....

Tradition!

We are now coming to the season of the holidays. Last night I went to a womens meeting at my church. The title was Parenting with Pazzas! It was a lot of fun. Sally (the lady who spoke) talked about the importance of making memories with your children. She talked about all the wonderful things that she did with her boys (who are now married and have there own children). The different things that she did for decorating. She made sure that we all knew that it doesn't matter how much money that you do have because you can a lot with just the things that you have around the house. It was really neat to talk about the different traditions that people had. Some talked about celebrating St. Nicks day. Which is the 6th of Dec. It is a good time to get out the story about St. Nick and doing the stocking that evening. Such a fun activity. Also talked about simple gifts for families during the holidays. So much fun and we are just starting the holiday season.

My husband loves traditions. The day after Thanksgiving we go over to Josh's moms house and watch Polar Express. We have been doing this since the movie came out. Last year both of the kids were thrilled to watch the movie and sat still the entire movie with a big bowl of popcorn. Grandma even made hot chocolate for Jonas. Jonas will always remember this. During the christmas season my mom collects nativitys. She tells the story by putting the wiseman in another room until it is time for them to come see Jesus. Last year while we were there for Christmas Jonas was sitting in the living room playing with the nativity singing "Jesus Loves me." Another wonderful tradition that will stay with my children forever. These are just a few of many traditions that we do have.

I encourage this holiday season to find one new tradition that you can do with your family. What
ever it may be. This will be carried with your children forever.
